Summer in IPSWICH

Crane Beach was a fantastic walk last weekend.  Makiko and I escaped for a couple hours Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the 6 odd miles of sand under our feet.  We then took in the Choate Bridge Pub for a drink and some fine dining.  I recommend the lobster roll.

If you have a last minute craving for a pie or need to stop for some goodies to enjoy while on the sand, hit Russel Farm on the way out, it is less than a 2 minutes from the beach.  Make it a weekend and stay with us at KAEDE, enjoy some of the fine dining in town, just steps from our dooryard.

Wa-Fu Breakfast (Japanese)

We have several Japanese breakfast menu choices, but usually limit the daily selection to one.  So, if you have a favorite, make sure you let us know:

Asamaki: a maki-roll of egg, green beans, and other simple veggies wrapped with white rice and plum essence.  Served with miso soup and sometimes a vegetable side.

hangetsu gyoza setto (dumplings, miso soup, white rice, pickled veggies)

sanshyoku gohan (white rice covered w/egg,green peppers, ground chicken served with miso soup, pickled veggies)

yasai tappuri chahan (lightly fried rice with veggies, miso soup, pickled veggies)

All dishes made with authentic Japanese spices and sauces and prepared fresh every morning.  Again, Japanese breakfast items are just an option on the menu, we continue to serve full western breakfast every day.

Current Breakfast Menu

We want your stay at KAEDE to be more than satisfactory. With our breakfast, we try to give you something extra, something more than you expected in the morning. We try to do this every morning for every guest.

We usually offer three or more entrees to choose from every morning. Breakfast starts with fresh cut fruit, muffins baked while you slept, coffee, tea and juice. While you are enjoying these, you can review the whiteboard of entrees for the day. Some of the entrees we typically serve include:

  • omelettes to order
  • stuffed French Toast
  • pancakes (blueberry, blackberry, pumpkin)
  • Kaede breakfast crepe
  • Creme Brulee French Toast
  • Belgian Waffles
  • Eggs Benedict
  • eggs to order
  • smoothies

We provide sides of bacon, sausage, homefries, potato pancakes, english muffins and Makiko’s toasted homemade breads to fit the entree. Miso soup and a full Japanese breakfast are available upon request.
